Q & A

How will I receive my child’s report card?
The distribution of 3rd quarter report cards has been pushed back to April 22nd.  We are working on the process of delivering them via email. Your teachers will be providing further details. To support social distancing and keep our staff safe, report cards will not be available for pickup and mailed.
How do I complete my volunteer hours?
Due to the circumstances, parents will not be required to complete their volunteer hours since the campus is closed.  If the school re-opens, a portion of volunteer hours may be required, but that will be determined at a later date.
Will the school be having graduations and ceremonies?
Ceremonies are a very important way to celebrate and share the successes of our students. We want to continue with our traditions.  However, until we learn when our school may re-open, all plans have been suspended. We will provide information as details become available.
When will schools reopen?
Remote learning for all public K-12 students in Broward County began on Monday, March 30, 2020. Currently, physical distancing protocols will keep regular school buildings closed until at least May 1, 2020. It has not yet been decided when, or if, normal school operations will return this school year. The next update on school building operations will occur prior to May 1.
When will the school year end?
At this time, the last day of school for students is scheduled to be Tuesday, June 2, 2020. If schools are able to operate virtually beginning on March 30, 2020, until either a return to normal operations or June 2, 2020, the school year will not need to be extended. The need to extend the school year may change as events unfold. School districts have been directed by the Florida Department of Education to develop contingency plans to operate schools through June 30, 2020, if necessary.
How will students be promoted to the next grade level?
Promotion decisions to the next grade level will be based on teacher professional judgment, discussions with parents and principal recommendation under School Board Policy 6000.1. All state testing and concordance requirements have been waived.
How is attendance taken for remote learning?
The Florida Department of Education recommends that schools be proactive and establish a protocol and verification process for individual student attendance/engagement.  Imagine Broward teachers have commenced taking attending on Pinnacle.  A student is present if they attended a zoom meeting, responded to ClassDojo/Edmodo, turned in assignments, or made contact with teacher.
How do I turn in my child’s Course Selection Card for Middle School?
We will be announcing drop off dates and times for each middle school grade level.  It will be safe with no human interaction as there will be drop off boxes.  We plan to do the drop-off in late April or early May.  Until then, please hold onto course cards and keep them safe.
